Abstract
This research examines the modern trends in eco-friendly fashion materials and assesses their impact on sustainability within the fashion industry, addressing the critical question of how such materials can be utilized to mitigate environmental harm. Through a mixed-methods approach incorporating qualitative consumer perception data, quantitative lifecycle analyses of various sustainable materials, and detailed case studies of brands successfully implementing eco-friendly practices, the research reveals that consumer demand for sustainable options is steadily increasing, influencing production practices and material innovation. Key findings indicate that materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel significantly lower the overall environmental footprint of fashion products when compared to conventional textiles. The significance of these findings extends beyond the fashion industry, highlighting a nexus between sustainable fashion practices and public health concerns, particularly related to the harmful effects of traditional textile manufacturing processes on both ecological and human health. This study's implications suggest that integrating eco-friendly materials into the fashion supply chain can promote broader societal shifts towards sustainability, foster awareness of environmental health issues, and encourage consumers to make informed choices that benefit both their well-being and the planet. By positioning eco-friendly fashion as a vital component of sustainability efforts, this research contributes valuable insights into the potential for positive transformations within the healthcare context.
